Dear Householder or Business Owner, I am in the process of promoting a new ‘North Yorkshire Messenger Alert’ service to the local community, plus would like to ask what you think about the Police. I would therefore be really grateful if you would e mail me at elliot.brown@northyorkshire.police.uk with the following information, if you would like to sign up to the alerts. Full name Address with post code E mail Address Mobile Phone Number Landline Number (Ideally, but not necessary). If you are not happy passing this information to me, I am happy to receive an e mail and will reply from my North Yorkshire Police e mail, so you know it is genuine. If not, I will try and arrange a personal visit from a uniformed Officer. The alerts are mainly from the Police and other agencies such as Action Fraud to warn you in relation to new scams, so I would encourage you to sign up. Once I have set you up, you will receive an e mail to set up your password and access your personal account. Then you will receive relevant alerts for the area you select from the Police in the main, where you can reply and update with any information, so we see it immediately and can react accordingly. When you reply, I would also be grateful if you would also give me a grading in relation to how confident you are with North Yorkshire Police at this time. 1 being not confident up to 5 which is really confident and that will give us an idea how the Community feel about North Yorkshire Police. Also, if you have any issues in your neighbourhood that you would like to raise, such as speeding vehicles, anti-social behaviour etc, then please also let me know. If however, you wish to report a specific crime, then please report this via the usual methods such as the 101 system or on line, unless it is an emergency. Finally, if you would prefer to opt out, then please e mail me your address and post code, so I can remove your address from our list for 6 months. If I do not receive a response within a reasonable time, I will show your address as declining this offer. Thank you very much for your time.
