Melsonby Methodist Primary School

Dear Parents, Carers and Residents of Melsonby,

Calling all volunteers! Now is the time to get involved and support your local school!

The Friends of Melsonby School (FOMS) would like to share a big THANK YOU for of all your support and involvement over recent years – all the ducks you have bought, the cakes you have baked, raffle tickets sold, and prizes donated…. the list is endless. Simply put, FOMS could not exist without you.

The current committee has been in place for several years but unfortunately, as children leave and people move on, many involved will not be renewing their positions on the committee in the coming year. This means we don’t have enough people to continue to deliver this important role for the village and school.

We require additional support and direction; people to plan the events, source materials, bring ideas to life, send messages, and liaise with the school. We are calling on the wider community to support us to deliver such important village events including The Christmas Fair and Duck Race.

Both events raise significant funds required for all the children to enjoy additional resources, new books for the library, school trips, Christmas Disco, Years 6 leavers gifts and school transport needs. Without the FOMS such things simply aren’t viable within the school’s budget.

If being involved sounds an exciting challenge, please join us at our AGM on Monday 18 September from 7pm at St James the Great Church. Prosecco and nibbles will be provided on arrival. We will look forward to seeing your there!

Thank you,

Carla Jackson, Chair – Friends of Melsonby School.
