There are several annual events that have become village traditions:
The Duck Race which takes place in early summer. Sponsored ducks race along the beck from the school to the green. There are many prizes and the money raised is used for school funds.
Sports Day is an afternoon of fun with races, sideshows, fancy dress for all the village, often followed up with a barbeque on the green.
The Allotment and Produce Show takes place in late summer in the school. It is open to all in the village to show off vegetables, flowers, baking and crafts and there are special classes for the children.
In the autumn there is a Leek and Onion Show and a Men’s Ham and Egg Pie competition, held in the Black Bull.
