In spite of the rigours of the summer weather there were some excellent
entries in the Melsonby Allotment Association and Melsonby Methodist Primary
School show with several new contributors doing well and taking some prizes.
These country shows have a long tradition and it would be a pity if they fade
away for want of support, so it is good that incomers are taking up the
challenge – you do not need to be an expert to take part and it is not just the
winning that matters. Thanks to Avril Proudlock and her helpers for making it a
success.
